Amanda,

I agree with Roy. You are way too hard on yourself and you have a lot to offer the family of God.

There's that humor again. Amanda, you are a good person. You need to understand that. Quit trying to destroy yourself. God loves you regardless. But, as LT has just said, you have so much to offer. Quit worrying so much about the things that remain and glory in the work that is done. You highlight the bad and disguise the good but the good comes out anyway because it is there. You cannot hide that which is real.

Char,

You are absolutely correct. There is no way to hide goodness. It's in both of you. Sometimes the things we do don't really reflect who we are and only our Father knows that. I can tell you that everything she says she has done, the Father looks completely past that. That is difficult for me to explain since some will think I am saying that God doesn't care about our sin. I know He does but He looks at his children differently. Just as I look at my children differently than I do others. My kids can get away with murder simply because I love them so much. God is somewhat the same (only He is completely righteous and never has a wrong thought and does everything right). I know it made Him sad when David committed murder out of lust, yet His love for him was not daunted in the least. You see what I mean when I say my kids can get away with murder. It is only because I love them so much. I love them more than my rules - so does God. I hope no one gets upset with me. But woe to those who don't accept the free gift of His Son. Can you imagine ever rejecting Jesus? I can see people getting upset with Him since we wonder why He doesn't just come and take care of everything that is wrong with us. I can only say how much He loves His children and brothers and sisters and friends. Gotta go and tell these kids how much God loves them.

I better clarify before I get into trouble from you all. Yes, God hates sin and he wants us to overcome sin. But, He loves us more than He hates sin. That is why you have already been judged "Not Guilty." That may not be fair in our eyes but He is right and just to do all that He has done and one thing He has done is to forgive us of all our sin.

Roy,

I understand what you are saying, but I think we need to include one pointandmake a distinction. We are "Not Guilty" in that we will not be condemned. We have been saved from the Lake of Fire and saved unto Christ. Yet, even for the believer, there are consequences for sin in this life. The consequences will come in the form of divine discipline that is designed for our good because He loves us.

We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind.--Isaiah 64:6, NLT.

The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.--Psalm 51:17, NLT.

Even when she's depressed, she still holds fast to her belief and knows God loves her without a doubt

I did try to hold fast to the belief that God loves me butreally, in the cold light of day, with everything that has been against me even as far as being able to take a simple anti-depressant, I know God hates me and is very hard on me.

I'd say over the age of 62 these days. Those older country preachers that only wear suits are dying out.
